Developmental Editing
(the forest, from within)
This is the meaty work. I read your draft and look at the big picture - the overall structure, content, and style - then give you feedback. This can address everything from writing style to character development, from plot arcs to target audience.

I give developmental feedback in the form of an 8-12 page letter, containing all of the above and more; I can also provide comments on a Word document draft by request. For this service, I also offer a video or voice call after you receive your response, to discuss and clarify as needed.
Line Editing

This is the pretty work. I look at your manuscript line by line and give suggestions on how to refine your language, while still keeping your personal voice alive. This includes analyzing syntax, diction, style, and tone in every line and paragraph, as well as how the whole thing flows together.

I provide line editing on a Word document or other document (LibreOffice, Google Drive, etc) using the Track Changes and Comments functions.
Copy Editing

This is nitty-gritty work where I correct your grammar, punctuation, and spelling. I will also check for consistency in style and content.
